About Our Company

Founded in 1979 by Frank Twehous, Elliott “Bud” Farmer Jr. and Mike Farmer, Capital Quarries delivers quality products and materials to contractors in the Missouri and Northeast Arkansas area. Now operating 22 locations, Capital Quarries employs 100 hardworking, dedicated, and dependable individuals to ensure safety, quality and service are at the top of the list.

Capital Quarries dedicates its time, services, and materials to its customers. Whether the need is for one ton of rock, or 100,000 tons, quality and service never go unchecked. The company has expanded to not only provide basic commercial base rock, but state-approved asphalt and concrete rock. With 40+ years of business, Capital Quarries has the experience to provide customers with quality specification material to meet their needs.

As an active community partner, Capital Quarries supports education and partnerships with local law enforcement, schools, and community resource agencies. As a part of corporate social responsibility, Capital Quarries takes pride in operating safe and clean plants, with an excellent safety record.

Capital Quarries donates to Special Olympics

Capital Quarries donated a portion of the Highway 54 South Quarry to build the new Special Olympics Missouri Training for Life Campus.

In the heart of Missouri, Capital Quarries keeps the beat with its 944K hybrid wheel loaders

Nestled between neighborhoods and freshly built super stores not five minutes from the State Capitol building in Jefferson City, Missouri, sits an unexpected pocket of industry. Other than the crisp limestone bluffs acting as a backdrop, this quarry is nearly undetectable from the surrounding thoroughfares, although its products have played a significant role in the infrastructure that has sprung up around it. The site is home to Capital Quarries Company and just one of the organization�s 16 active mines.

Capital Quarries hosts S&T Blasting Camp

Capital Quarries hosts various Missouri University of Science and Technology engineering and geology courses and in addition, has been hosting the S&T Blasting Camp at the Rolla Quarry for more than a decade with High School students from across the United States in attendance.
